For flights to Europe and to the channel islands, you are required to complete a GAR (General Aviation Report).
You’re required to complete a GAR 2hrs before your departure, or arrival into the UK.
The information here is for guidance only; you should undertake your own research to ensure you are compliant with laws and regulations.
For all arrivals to the UK, from either The Channel Islands, The Isle Of Man, Northern Ireland, France or Europe, you are required to submit a GAR at least 2 hours before departure.
If the departure airport does not have a police designation you are required to notify the police at least 12 hours prior to departure.
You can find all of the information about General Aviation Reports, along with airfield credentials, police contact information and information about applications with Home Office approval here:

Entering the UK
You can submit a GAR for travel to the UK using the following link.
Entering or Departing Gurnsey or Alderney
If you’re travelling to Gurnsey or Alderney, you need to submit a passenger and aircraft declaration for arrival and departure (in addition to a GAR to enter the UK when you leave). You do not need to submit a report for travel within Bailiwick (between Gurnsey and Alderney). You can submit this digitally.
It is a security requirement that any electronic GAR’s that have been submitted in Alderney must be available on an electronic device and presented to a security officer to have access to the airfield and be required for purchasing any duty free goods. Two copies will also be required if you are using the downloadable form from this page for access to the airfield and for duty free goods.
